I'm Emilie, owner and photographer here at Smitten Photography.

I'm not kidding when I say I've been a shutterbug practically my whole life. When I was a kid, I used to actually pose my barbies and take their photos! I always knew I loved taking photos, but my passion really grew into what it is today thanks to my husband Josh. (Fun fact, we're high school sweethearts!) He bought himself a Canon Rebel T1i DSLR camera with some of his graduation money, and I was like a moth to a flame! He learned how to use it, then taught me, and the rest is history.

I've been professionally pursuing my passion for over 7 years now and I fall more in love every day. Always meeting new people, watching families grow, witnessing some of the biggest moments of people's lives, it's what I live for! Being able to look back at a moment from years ago, and feel like you're right there again is so special. Especially being a mom, I cherish every single photo of my babies because they grow up so. dang. fast! (*insert sentimental sobbing here*). I don't think I could pick a favorite 'genre' of photography, but what I love most is capturing the moments just as they are.

When I'm not behind the camera or at the computer editing, I'm spending quality time with my husband and our 2 daughters Raegan & Charlie. I don't know why it's so hard to write about yourself, all I can really say is I don't fit any specific 'mold'. I am a super girly girl that loves fashion, makeup, and drinking iced coffee while strolling through Target, but I also love things like video games, archery, going to hockey or baseball games, and staying up late watching Twitch streams. I wear many hats and have more hobbies than I can keep up with, but I wouldn't change it for the world.
